Public Transportation
The Canada Line is Vancouver’s rapid transit rail connecting YVR to downtown Vancouver in under 30 minutes and to downtown Richmond in 18 minutes. You can access trains from both the International and Domestic Terminals.
Getting to YVR with the Canada Line
Canada Line’s YVR Airport station is centrally located between our International and Domestic Terminals. As you exit the train, turn left for domestic flights or right for US and international flights.
To get to YVR from Aberdeen, Capstan, Lansdowne, or Richmond–Brighouse stations, change at Bridgeport.

Arriving from within Canada?
- Your checked bags are at Arrivals on Level 2 of the Domestic Terminal
- On Level 3, walk toward the Link Building (located between the International and Domestic Terminal)
- Follow the signs marked Canada Line or ask any of our Guest Experience staff in blue or green vests for assistance
All transit users travelling on the Canada Line leaving YVR are subject to a $5 Canada Line Add Fare, in addition to the regular zone fare. AddFare is automatically added when a passenger purchases a fare ticket.
The Canada Line YVR AddFare is levied and collected by TransLink. The Airport Authority receives no portion of the money collected from the YVR AddFare on the Canada Line.
If you are buying a single adult ticket, you don’t need to go to a ticket machine. Save time and go paper-less: You can tap to pay with your contactless debit or credit card right at the fare gate. Interac® Debit, American Express®, Mastercard®, Visa® are accepted.
Learn more about fares.If you are travelling on Sea Island only, tap and ride for free. Use your mobile phone, debit or credit card, or Compass card to ride for free through all Sea Island stations. Tap directly at the gates – with no charge!
Children 12 and under are able to ride on Canada Line free of charge only if accompanying a fare paying customer. A fare paying customer can accompany up to a maximum of four children through the fare gates.
Canada Line Accessibility
The Canada Line is accessible by elevator from arrivals and departures levels. If you require assistance to the Canada Line, our dedicated Guest Experience staff and Green Coat volunteers are here to help. You can find representatives, wearing distinctive blue or green jackets, at our Information counters.
NightBus
YVR has 24-hour, seven-day-a-week public transit access when the Canada Line is closed. The N10 NightBus supports early-morning or late-night hours to Downtown or Richmond.
