Funding and How We Give
YVR Cares
We are proud to continue supporting community grant and funding requests, while also expanding employee giving and volunteer opportunities. Requests for donations and sponsorships of community programs, volunteer initiatives, and in-kind gifts to community-based organizations are welcome. We are proud to invest in organizations and events that align with our commitment to Empowering People, Supporting Communities, and Creating a Sustainable Future.
The YVR Social Impact Program focuses on three key components: YVR Cares Grants, Employee Giving and Employee Volunteering.
Funding/Grants
We accept grant and event sponsorship applications year-round. While we value every submission, we will contact organizations directly if we decide to move forward with the application.
YVR Cares Community Investment Grants do not support:- Sports teams or organizations
- Galas and golf tournaments
- Support for individuals
- Travel, accommodation or meals
- Advertising in yearbooks, handbooks, journals, event programs or recruitment initiatives
- Advocacy or lobbying for narrow or specific interests
- Endowments, contingency funds or deficit campaigns
- We will promote diversity, but do not promote organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion or lifestyle
- Political parties, projects or programs
- Private foundations, clubs, elementary and secondary schools, private universities, and private schools
- Religious or faith-based projects or programs (exceptions to this include supporting faith-based organizations at YVR including the local chaplaincy)
- Service clubs, fraternal organizations or commercial third-party fundraising groups
- Vancouver Airport Authority / L'Administration de l’aéroport de Vancouver Board of Directors, employees or members of their families
- Organizations with conflicting mandates and agendas to the interests of the Airport Authority
- Major capital projects and campaigns
In very rare and specific cases, we fund existing partnerships that may fall under what is listed above.

It can typically take up to three months to fully develop partnerships, so please submit applications early to take this timing into account. In consideration of the high volume of requests we receive each year, funding applications up to a maximum of $20,000 are recommended unless your organization has a current or previous partnership with YVR.
