2025 Annual & Sustainability Report
Building Resilience, Building Momentum Together
Our purpose is to serve our community and the economy that supports it.
As Canada’s second busiest airport and a global gateway connecting North America with Asia and beyond, YVR plays a vital role in connecting people, cargo, and ideas to the world.
Guided by our 2025–2027 Strategy, we remained focused on delivering strong performance today while building the capacity to adapt in a more complex and uncertain environment. Amid geopolitical and economic uncertainty and changing travel patterns, we continue to advance the priorities that matter most to our communities and stakeholders—and where we can create the greatest value: safe, reliable operations; strong financial fundamentals to sustain reinvestment; meaningful progress on climate and energy resilience; and continued advancement of reconciliation.

While the awards are not the story themselves, they serve as third party indicators of how our efforts are delivering value for passengers, partners, employees, and the communities we serve.
The design in this year’s report reflects our continued friendship and shared work with Musqueam. YVR is located on what is now known as Sea Island, which is the unceded and traditional territory of Musqueam, and we approach our business and operations through a lens of reconciliation that is grounded in respect, collaboration, and friendship.
χpey̓ (cedar) appears throughout the report in various forms. It was carefully chosen to align with this year’s theme, Building Resilience, Building Momentum Together, and to reflect cedar’s wide-ranging practical uses and cultural connection.
Read more about the design on page 3As passenger and cargo volumes increased, our focus was on reducing variability across the operation. We exceeded targets for departure punctuality, security screening wait times, and baggage connections, driven by targeted investments in core systems and closer coordination across the airport ecosystem.
YVR’s financial position remains strong. We marked a new record with total revenue reaching $717 million and started off 2025 with Morningstar DBRS reaffirming our AA (low) Issuer Rating and Senior Debenture credit rating and S&P Global Ratings maintaining our AA long-term rating with a positive outlook.
Our social priorities focus on the people and communities connected to YVR: how we engage, how we create shared value, and how we foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive workplace.
- Community engagement: We continued to engage through formal and informal channels and promote two-way dialogue with our community.
- Community investment: We also supported 27 local partners and provided more than $875,000.
- Work with Musqueam: We advanced work under our 30-year Sustainability and Friendship Agreement through visible cultural initiatives and collaborative events, as well as ongoing collaboration focused on education and employment pathways, cultural integration across the passenger experience, and Musqueam participation in major project planning and archaeology protection.
We continue to advance our vision of becoming a talent-first organization by investing in our people, building inclusive leadership, and supporting well-being across our 24/7 operation.
- Piloted career coaching and structured development planning with volunteer participants.
- Expanded e-learning and classroom options to better meet the unique needs of our diverse organization.
- Delivered more than 11,000 online training modules and in-person training events.
Sustainability at YVR is embedded in how we plan for the future, balance competing priorities, and create lasting value for the region we serve.
- Net Zero 2030: Several projects were completed in 2025 to progress our carbon reduction work with others currently underway.
- Climate change resiliency: We conducted work to upgrade dikes and drainage facilities across Sea Island, shoring up climate infrastructure to increase our resilience. We also continued to measure and report on air quality, waste, water, and our ecosystem health.
In 2025, our strong results enabled us to look beyond day-to-day operations and focus on the work that positions YVR for the years ahead. Building on the foundation of reliable performance, we advanced key initiatives that strengthened our infrastructure, modernized our systems, and enhanced the experience for those who rely on us. These actions reflect our commitment to preparing for a more connected, resilient, and sustainable future.
