Aeronautical Noise Management Committee
Managing aeronautical noise involves the cooperation of many parties.
The Aeronautical Noise Management Committee provides input and suggestions on YVR’s Noise Management Program. Committee members are independently appointed by respective stakeholder groups, which include:
- NAV CANADA
NAV CANADA provides air navigation services for all Canada. Their role is to provide air traffic control services and operate and maintain air navigation aids and equipment to ensure safe and efficient movement of aircraft. NAV CANADA is also responsible for designing and publishing flight paths and procedures according to standards set by Transport Canada and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). - Transport Canada
Transport Canada is the federal body that regulates aviation in Canada. They develop transportation policies and legislation to maintain safety and security. Transport Canada reviews, approves and publishes noise control measures and enforces suspected violations of noise abatement procedures. - Municipal staff and citizen representatives appointed by the City of Richmond, City of Vancouver, City of Delta, and City of Surrey
- Musqueam Indian Band
- Airlines and aircraft operators
- Industry associations
